Uncertain Sign Dragon Break
In the waning years of the Third Era of Tamriel, a prisoner born on a certain day to uncertain parents was sent under guard, without explanation, to Morrowind, ignorant of the role they were to play in that nation's history...
The Uncertain Sign Dragon Break was a collapse of historical clarity and temporal determinism which surrounded the Nerevarine Prophecy. The Dragon Break is believed to have begun in the general temporal neighbourhood of 3E 427. The Imperial Chronoarcanologists discovered the Dragon Break when attempting to ascertain the actual identity of the Nerevarine, a figure connected with the prophecy.
The Imperial record currently considers the following individuals potential Nerevarines. Records from the time the Mundus was experiencing the Dragon Break are, for obvious reasons, unreliable and sometimes conflicting. The Chronoarcanologists have thus focused on the records of the Imperial clerk Socucius Ergalla, a customs and excise agent from Seyda Neen. Ergalla's records for the 16th of Last Seed, 3E 427 always show the arrival of an Imperial parolee as the only arrival of that day. The following individuals have been identified from those records:
- Seeks-His-Heart, a male Argonian who had escaped slavery in mainland Morrowind only to be later paroled to uesp-l:Vardenfell. He is notable for being the brother of Slips-Through-Fingers, a possible subject of the Mantling of Akatosh Dragon Break.
- Iacobus Tenura, a Imperial who was briefly imprisoned during his service in the Imperial Legion for assaulting a senior officer.
- Adyne Mathendis, a Dunmer scholar.
Most, but not all of these subjects later become implicated in the records of other Imperial officials. At the time of writing, it is unclear which, if any, are responsible for the later fulfillment of the Nerevarine Prophecy, though by all accounts someone must have fulfilled the prophecy and a Third Era Nerevarine must have been incarnated if the later histories and dragon breaks to be investigated are to make any sense at all.
When discussing the individuals on this list it appears that reality may have been fundamentally different for them compared to the experiences of others.
