Mantling of Akatosh Dragon Break
"I was born 87 years ago. For 65 years I've ruled as Tamriel's Emperor. But for all these years I have never been the ruler of my own dreams. I have seen the Gates of Oblivion, beyond which no waking eye may see. Behold, in Darkness a Doom sweeps the land. This is the 27th of Last Seed; the Year of Akatosh 433. These are the closing days of the 3rd Era, and the final hours of my life."
₋ Emperor Uriel Septim VII
The Mantling of Akatosh Dragon Break is a dragon break that is more or less fully coterminous with the major events of the Oblivion Crisis. The confusion surrounds conflicting records surrounding the identity of a prisoner in a specific cell of the Imperial City Prison, and of course what those individuals managed to do in terms of influencing history. At the time of writing, the following individuals are all indicated to have been in the relevant cell on 27th of Last Seed, 3E 433:
- Slips-Through-Fingers, an Argonian woman who had been imprisoned after a string of petty larcenies in and around the imperial city. She is noteworthy in that she is also known to be the sister of Seeks-His-Heart, who is implicated in the Uncertain Sign Dragon Break six years earlier.
- Mogrun gro-Ash, an Orsimer woman who was imprisoned after brawling with a city watchman who had insulted her heritage.
- Velacar Nerrine, an Altmer man who traveled from Summerset to the Imperial City on a personal mission, who was imprisoned for vagrancy.
- Syl Belladona, a Bosmer woman who had been imprisoned on suspicion of a murder.
